your step-by-step guide to register for a mindfulness retreat
Please follow all of the steps below to apply for a retreat.
A couple of notes:
- If you are a parent/guardian, support your teen in making the decision for themselves to attend retreat. We only accept applications from parents/guardians on behalf of a teen when the teen has given their consent to apply.
- Requesting a scholarship? You must first complete Steps 1-3 below – submission of your entire application – before sending your scholarship request. We will only process your scholarship request once we receive your complete retreat application.
- Add [email protected] and [email protected] to your safe-senders list; email is our main form of communication. If you do not see an email you are expecting from us, please check your spam / promotions folders.
step 1: begin your application for the retreat of your choice
- Visit our calendar, and select the retreat you wish to attend.
- On that specific retreat’s webpage, click “apply now” to start your application by submitting your basic info and paying the $35 application fee.
- Upon submission of your basic info and $35 payment, a link for the remainder of your application will be immediately sent to your email.
step 2: complete your application via the link in your inbox
- Check your email for the link to complete your full application.
- To ensure your spot is reserved, submit your application as soon as possible. Retreats fill up quickly, and your spot is not reserved until your completed application is submitted.
Please note: Teen under 18? Parts of this application need to be filled out by the parent/guardian *and* teen. We do ask for a lot of info, and that’s for a good reason – our retreats are in-depth and highly specialized for every teen in attendance to have a safe, nourishing experience.
step 3: receive confirmation of your application submission
When you click “submit” on your application, you will automatically and immediately receive an email confirming submission.
If you do not get an email, we have not received your application. (Make sure to check your spam folder.) For any questions or issues, please follow up with [email protected].
At this stage, if you have a need-based scholarship request, fill out the scholarship request form.
step 4: schedule a call or check-in
Within a week, you will receive an update from the registrar with the next step in your application process.
- If this is your first time on retreat, we will schedule a one-on-one New Attendee call with the applicant and a member of Inward Bound’s registration staff.
- If you are a returning attendee, we may also schedule a check-in call.
step 5: await status from registrar
First-time attendees
- Once you have had a call, and the registrar has approved you to come on retreat, you’ll receive an email saying “You’re Approved”!
Returning attendees
- Once we have reviewed your application and followed up with you, you’ll receive an email saying “You’re Approved”!
6 weeks before retreat
- Detailed information will be emailed to you about on-site contacts, shuttle meeting points, and more.
- For all details and a packing list for your retreat, visit your retreat’s webpage.
